Now They Scream for Blood

On my "old" blog I posted a brief note about Gillian Gibbons, the British teacher in Sudan who allowed her student to vote (please note she asked them to VOTE) for a name for the class teddy bear. These good little muslim students (20 out of 23) voted for Muhammad and thus Ms. Gibbon's life changed forever.

The trial, closed to the public, found her guilty of blaspheme against Islam and sentenced her to 15 days in jail and deportation. Considering that she was facing up to 6 months in prison, a fine, AND 40 lashes, I'd say she got off light.

However, the good men of Sudan are screaming...really...screaming for her blood.

Read it here:

Here's a little quote:

"Imprisoning this lady does not satisfy the thirst of Muslims in Sudan. But we welcome imprisonment and expulsion," the cleric, Abdul-Jalil Nazeer al-Karouri, a well-known hard-liner, told worshippers.

"This an arrogant woman who came to our country, cashing her salary in dollars, teaching our children hatred of our Prophet Muhammad," he said.

Nice

So much for that "religion of peace" nonsense.

Let's just hope (and pray) that Ms. Gibbons gets out of this with her life. She isn't safe in Sudan and she won't be safe in Britain (home to millions of Muslims). I find it so annoying that this woman, this teacher, left her comfortable home to HELP these people and is now in danger of losing her life over something as stupid as the name of a stuffed animal.

What a senseless bunch of refuse!
