I'm Dreaming of a Wet (as in RAIN) Christmas

You can see the evidence of a wee bit o' snow on the vehicles

Just over a foot. That's how much snow we've received thus far. Frankly, it's all too ridiculous. Last night, as previously reported, the ice formed a smooth surface over the snow which added to our "joy".

Beloved and I took a hike up to check on an elderly neighbor. This walk is usually rather pleasent and doesn't take a great deal of time. Due to the foot+ of snow and the one inch layer of ice, the walking was difficult, fun, but difficult just the same.

I'm glad we trekked up to the neighbors. We brought him some cookies and rescued his dog that was trapped outside and afraid to walk on the ice. The neighbor is feeble and didn't dare go out for fear he would fall and thus be trapped himself.

The forecast calls for more ice and more snow. Chains are required on all vehicles; even those of the four-wheel drive variety. Golden Child has ventured up to Seattle for the big football game. Crazy middle child! We are home and staying home.

Enjoy the photos and thank God you live somewhere warm (yes, you Miss Patti and Sandcastle Mom in your shorts and your bare feet!)

Frozen unripe Blackberry

Dried grass frozen on the fence

Even the geese have had enough

The cows are unimpressed

This ice is only 1/2 an inch thick. Most of it is a solid inch thick

More icy trees

Beloved breaking a path through the snow and ice for me. What a guy!

Taken yesterday. I am not amused

Hi Annie -

We had what is called, "wintry mix," around here. Translation: rain turning to ice. Where my friend lives in New England, the story was spelled S N O W - 12".

Spring will come. Meanwhile, I'm going to brew some tea.

Blessings,
Susan :)
