Slight of Hand

As I prepared to write today's blog entry, I glanced down at my hands and noted that they are starting to look old. My memory was then jogged to something that someone said last week about a woman they know, in her 80's, who has beautiful hands. Now, is it just me, or are hands something you seldom think about?

Ever been accused of checking out someones hands?? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Me either. In the wacky world we live in, I'm certain there are many flaky flakes out there who have a thing for hands. I've heard men say, "I'm a leg man," or "I'm a boob man" (aren't they all?), but I don't recall anyone ever saying, while sneaking glances at my hands, "I'm a hand man!".

It's not like there isn't enough pressure out there to have a trunk that's got the right amount of junk in it. Gravity is not a girls best friend and if I ever refer to "firmness", trust me, I'll be talking about my mattress. I have lotions and potions to keep my face from looking "old" before it's time. I workout at the gym, don't smoke, and am fortunate enough to have inherited my mother's genes when it comes to aging.

Ahh, but now there is the issue of the hands. If I had to bet on it, I'd say it all started with those Palmolive ads, which ran in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Watch below:

Consider the original ad campaign for Palmolive soap: Natures gift to beauty. The advertisement described how the oils from the palm and olive trees have been used throughout history. Cleopatra and the Romans used these oils.

I'd like to see that 80-year-old lady with the "young, beautiful hands". I'll bet she used Palmolive. I bet she did.

This brings back memories. Guess what? I'm still using Palmolive Dishwashing liquid. Hmm, I wonder if they'll send me a coupon for the plug. LOL!

Blessings,
Susan :)

P.S. I received an email with the
postcard to soldiers website.
What a great idea!

I could lie and say I'm a hand man the truth is we men could pretty much care less even if a gal is missing a couple of digits.

Farming accidents be damned, we are superficial in our attraction.
