Son Rise

I remember the day that the Son rose. It was a typical day in the life of a busy wife and mother. The new baby screamed 24/7. That young mommy was exhausted. Her two-year-old son toddled about and her Beloved worked to feed his family. They were a very typical family.

Who walked far from God.

But on that day, God said, "It's time to turn from your path and follow My path. For I have a plan for you. A plan to prosper you and not harm you".

The husband had believed from an early age and although he wasn't leading his family in paths of righteousness, he knew that God was real.

The wife had grown up in a dark and cavernous world that had attempted to swallow her soul and leave her void of joy and peace.

But then the Son rose.

On her knees in that tiny apartment, with a screaming baby nearby, she accepted what she knew to be true and confessed with her mouth that Jesus was Lord. For her, the resurrection of Christ became a real and tangible truth on that fall day. He rose and she believed.

And everything changed.

It's been eighteen years since I admitted my sin and accepted God's free gift of salvation and there is no greater joy than to stand and say,

"He is risen!"

He is risen, indeed!

May you find the peace you seek in the arms of Jesus, the Risen Son of God.

Happy Resurrection Day
