Happy 4th

The time is now near at hand which must probably
determine, whether Americans are to be, freemen, or
slaves; whether they are to have any property they can
call their own; whether their houses, and farms, are to
be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State
of wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably
deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend,
under God, on the courage and conduct of this army -- Our
cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us no choice but a brave
resistance, or the most abject submission; this is all we
can expect -- We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die...

-George Washington on July 2, 1776, from his headquarters in New York. This is, of course, only part of the original order written.

Oh...and to the person who commented on the previous post in a negative tone...I don't publish anonymous comments. Be a man and sign your name. Of course you have the freedom to not sign your name, just don't expect me to publish it. Snicker.

Oh...and it's my blog; conservative, snarky, sometimes a wee bit whiny, but it's mine and I can ramble on about anything I want to. That's part of the beauty we celebrate today. The freedom of speech. The freedom to ramble on about injustices, real or imagined. The freedom to call for the dismantlement of North Korea.

It's all about freedom baby. Enjoy it. Celebrate it. Protect it.

Happy 4th to you! I can't imagine not having the freedoms that we as Americans have.
